Committees
Currently, three standing committees are in place: Programs and Policies, Planning and Finance, and Advancement. Two sub-committees are also in place to address specific school needs: Technology and Vision.

  • The responsibilities of the Programs and Policies Committee include obtaining nominations for School Board vacancies, providing an orientation program for new board members, maintaining School Board member biographies and updating web site information related to School Board membership. This committee periodically reviews the school’s Mission Statement and has recently worked closely with the Principal and faculty in this capacity.  Members of this committee also act as a liaison with the Home and School Association by attending HSA meetings during the school year.

  • The Advancement Committee works to promote the success of Saint Dominic School in a number of ways. This committee has developed and updated school brochures and increased the school’s visibility within the community through the media and various community activities (e.g. students visiting local nursing homes, food & sock drives and Salvation Army bell ringers). This committee also acts as a liaison to each school’s development event chairperson and is charged with analyzing the results of each event.

  • The Planning and Finance Committee is responsible school financial matters and the long-range strategic plan. The committee reviews financial reports and meets with the Pastor and Principal on school financial matters on a regular basis and required to report to the Board at each formal meeting. The committee also reviews and provides advice relative to the school’s operational budget as prepared by the School Office and assists in the establishment of tuition annually. This committee is also charged with updating the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, five-year financial plan and long-range strategic plan. The committee works diligently to ensure that adequate financial resources are available and strives to be proactive in identifying areas of concern and potential resolution.

Currently, two ad-hoc sub-committees have been established. The Technology Sub-committee is charged with updating the technology capabilities at the school, and the Vision Sub-committee is charged with developing and establishing a shared vision of success for Saint Dominic School.
