Susan (Sue) Houle - School Board Chair
Sue is the 2011-2012 School Board Chair. Sue and her husband Ray have two sons, both of whom attend Saint Dominic School and they are members of the Saint Dominic Parish. Sue has been an active member of the Saint Dominic School family as a room parent, on school projects including the Reaccreditation Committee, automating the School’s library and Long-Term Vision and Strategy for the School. Professionally, Sue is a Business Project Manager for CIGNA’s Operating Effectiveness Organization and holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University and a M.B.A. with a concentration in Human Resource Management from RPI. She is also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and Change Management Leader.
Janet Miani - School Board Vice-Chair
Janet and her husband John have two daughters who have been students at Saint Dominic School for seven years beginning with in the pre-k program. Both she and John have been very committed to the success of Saint Dominic School through volunteering for several school projects and functions. She has also been the chairperson for the spring raffle for the past three years. Janet and her family have been members of Saint Dominic Church since January of 1999. Professionally, Janet holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Counselor Education, specializing in Student Development in Higher Education. Janet has served as a technology consultant for Aetna as well as an adjunct faculty member for CCSU and Tunxis Community College.
Gail Duffy – School Board Secretary
Gail is the 2009-2010 School Board Secretary. Gail is the mother of three boys, the youngest of which recently graduated from Saint Dominic School. Gail and her family are members of the Saint Dominic Church community. Professionally, Gail is a Reading and Math Support teacher in the Cheshire Public Schools. Gail holds a Bachelor of the Arts from Albertus Magnus College in Accounting and Finance, a Masters of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton, and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph College.
Maria Cusson
Maria and her husband Matthew live in Southington and have been members of Saint Dominic Church since 2000. They have a daughter and son, both of whom attend Saint Dominic School. Maria has been active as a room parent and volunteer in various classrooms and school activities. Professionally, Maria is an Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education and Assistant Clinical Professor for the Physical Program at Quinnipiac University. She has a B.S. in Physical Therapy and an M.S. in Allied Health Administration, and is a graduate of the Quinnipiac University School of Law. She also practices physical therapy at the Southington Care Center.
Karen Fasano
Karen lives in Southington with her six year old triplets, who have attended Saint Dominic’s since the pre-K program. Karen has been a member of Saint Dominic’s Parish since 2003. She is very committed to the success and advancement of Saint Dominic’s school through volunteering for several school functions and committees. Professionally Karen works as a Director of Nursing at Bristol Hospital and holds a BSN in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary College, MSN in Nursing Education and a MBA in Healthcare Administration from The University of Hartford. Karen is also holds a national certification in Healthcare Administration.
Terri Guay
Terri is the mother of three grown children and the proud grandmother of nine wonderful grandchildren. She became a member of Saint Dominic Parish when she moved to Southington eleven years ago. Terri is presently involved in the Lectors Ministry, the Daily Rosary Ministry and soon will be involved in the Eucharistic Ministers Ministry. She is also a member of the Program and Policies Committee on the School Board. Professionally, Terri received her Bachelor of Education Degree from Diocesan Teachers College, Masters in Education Degree from Boston College and Masters in School Administration from Central Connecticut State University. Her first teaching experiences were in Catholic Education, teaching in Connecticut, Vermont and New York State. The greater part of her teaching and administration career was in Public Education. Terri is retired after 25 years working for the Department of Education in Waterbury, Connecticut where her teaching experience there was in Middle School while administrative experience was in both Middle and High School.
Matthew (Matt) LaCluyze
Matt and his wife Kelly have two children in the School and both volunteer on many school projects. Matt enjoys fishing and hiking with his family and is active with his son’s Cub Scout den. Professionally, Matt is a member of the Connecticut State Police and currently works as a Detective with the Major Crime Squad. He is a graduate of Holy Cross College and Indiana University.
Kerry Hannify Morin
Kerry spent her childhood years living in Brattleboro Vermont, and then attended the University of Vermont for her undergraduate degree. After UVM, she went back to her hometown to become a Quality Manager at GS Precision, while attending night school for her Masters Degree in Engineering Management. Kerry moved to Connecticut to work at Data-Mail in 1998, where she is currently the Director of Quality. Kerry continued her education by pursuing her Doctorate in Engineering Management, and teaching Quality at Central CT State University for several years, while starting her growing family. Kerry is also currently the owner of JDM Manufacturing in Meriden, CT. Kerry is married to Rick Morin, a VP at Court Square Data Group in Springfield, Massachusetts. She is the mother of Jake McPhail, a student a Saint Dominic, a baby, Jessica, and is a step-mother to Julia, who attends Saint Bernard’s in Enfield. Kerry has been on the Saint Dominic H.S.A Board for the past several years where she serves as Vice President, and has been responsible for organizing the holiday parties.
Mark Proffitt
Mark Proffitt is a father of three grown children and resides in Southington with his wife, Lisa, who is a first grade teacher in Torrington. He has been a member of Saint Dominic Church since 1995. He has taught Religious Education at Saint Dominic School and was the coordinator of the Confirmation program for seven years. He is currently President of the Saint Dominic Men’s Club and a member of the Board’s Advancement Committee. Professionally, Mark is a Special Education teacher for the Middletown Public Schools. Prior to his recent teaching assignment, Mark was principal of The Lawrence School in Middletown for ten years and principal of Spencer School for three years. Mark holds his B.S. degree in Special Education, and M.S degree in Elementary Education, a Sixth Year certificate in Supervision/Administration, a certificate to be Superintendent of Schools, and advanced graduate coursework from UCONN.
Georgia Sullivan
Georgia was born in St. Petersburg Florida. After spending her teenage years in Norwalk Connecticut, she returned to Florida where she attended college at Florida State University. She majored in Criminology with minors in Social Work and Psychology. Upon graduation, she was hired by the State of Connecticut to work as a juvenile probation officer in Bridgeport Connecticut. She later attended Law School at Pace University in their evening program. As an attorney, she has worked as a law clerk, associate counsel for a large litigation firm, as staff counsel for the Hartford Insurance Company and presently in private practice for a firm in Hartford. Georgia is a stepmother to two children presently attending Holy Cross High School and her son Jackson attends Saint Dominic School. She is active in the community serving for many years as a reading buddy in Hartford, teaching Sunday School in Southington, volunteering in several youth athletic organizations and fundraising for various causes.
John Szeghy
John is a recent addition to the Saint Dominic School Board. John and his wife Tracy have three children attending Saint Dominic School in 2011; all of whom started in the pre-K program. Having been a Saint Dominic School parent for the past four years, John is heavily committed to the success of the school and its role in the community. John believes strongly that a school should be a safe environment, which enriches the soul and conscience as well as the mind. Professionally, John is a Senior Director in Project Management for Travelers Insurance. John has over 15 years’ experience in project execution and strategic development. John grew up outside of Philadelphia and is the product of a private, Catholic grade school and Jesuit high school education. John is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and recently received his MBA from the University of Connecticut.
Kimberley (Kim) Weaver
Kim is a native of Connecticut has been a Southington resident since 2001. She is married to Andrew, a Hartford Police Sergeant and has two daughters, Abigail and Charlene whom are students of Saint Dominic School. Kim and her family are parishioners of Saint Dominic Church. She is the President and co-founder of Sorella Books and is a published children’s book author of “Pack Your Bags….Go U.S.A..” Kimberley has been involved in the Southington community for many years as a member, as well as Public Relations Officer for the Southington Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks. She has received Outstanding Service Commendations for recognition of her service. Professionally, Kimberley is a GE corporate executive with over 20 years of marketing and sales management experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications degree from Saint John’s University located in Jamaica, New York.
